I've been wanting to try this for quite a while, but over the last 5 days, I have been busy making my first Amineko. Isn't he gorgeous?
To make it easy on myself I used a big needle and 12 ply wool, so it made a very big cat, but until I got the hang of it, it made sense. I did need 3 balls of grey though!
It's a process of making all the pieces individually and sewing them together. They slowly take shape. Here is me doing the head piece
It's just circles increasing and descreasing according to the pattern.
Pre - construction he looked like this. Trying to crochet with my real cat around was a pain in the neck let me tell you. What is it about cats and wool?
So here he is complete and Leo wasn't really sure in the end. I think he is adorable (and Leo too)
He is quite posable and sits up nice and happy
He even wanted to cuddle Leo
There is something so cool about things you can make yourself!
Now I think I'll make a few more in different colours - I see a new addiction coming on!
Have you made interesting stuff like this? I would love for you to put the link in a comment!
Hi Kat, I want to learn how to crochet & knit but haven't yet. Amineko came out so cute! I sent you an invite via your crafty mom post @ bloggy moms. Have a wonderful week!
